Downtown’s Magnificent Movie Palaces

This presentation will focus on the majestic theatres, designed by renowned architects, that once surrounded Grand Circus Park. Topics included will be programming, concessions, specialty venues, local exhibitors, and demographic changes affecting these venues. Like all presentations by Michael Hauser, this class will have depth and insight into a part of Detroit history that is now fading into the background.

About the Presenter: Mr. Hauser’s background includes marketing positions with two of Michigan’s major cinema chains and chairing theatre conferences for several historical organizations. He has assisted Phoenix Theatres with special projects and is one of the guest hosts for Secret Cinema at the Maple Theatre. He currently serves as marketing manager for the Detroit Opera House and continues to be a very popular MORE presenter.
